What’s the big deal? What I have learned recently about sprouted flour is truly amazing! I encourage you to take a few moments to read the amazing benefits of sprouted grains as opposed to un-sprouted grains here: That is when I learned that I could buy pre-ground sprouted flour! Oh, happy day! Why had no one ever told me about this sooner? Thus, began my journey to re-make my old beloved bread recipe into a THM-ified version so that it could be considered on plan. I was intrigued and asked for more details. One day, I happened upon a post by one of the THM admins and she mentioned that she made her own sprouted bread. I own a grain grinder so grinding the wheat was not an issue for me, just the process of sprouting and dehydrating the wheat to prepare it to be ground, so I never pursued that option. I was not intimidated by making bread, but I was intimidated at the thought of sprouting my own grain. ![]() It was soft and could be enjoyed without being warmed. I really missed my old bread recipe that I had been making for years. However, try as it might, the commercial bread never could match up to my homemade whole grain bread. The commercial bread is a great product, but it is kind of tough and hard, so to try and soften it I would make our sandwiches into Panini’s, so that the bread would warm and be a little softer. When we began eating the THM way, we bought a popular brand of commercially produced sprouted bread. For people that are not struggling with their weight, such as some children, and some pregnant and nursing mothers, etc…combining fats and carbohydrates is often helpful to maintain a healthy weight. However, I knew little about the need for using sprouted flours and about the effects of slathering my breads with lots of butter and the effect that could have on the waistline for people that are struggling with their weight (I love me some buttah!). Another disadvantage of RTMP protocol is the possibility of interruptions due to low bandwidth up to the point where your stream might not start at all. Ironically, the company announced it would stop supporting Flash Player. This protocol’s specifications were officially released by Adobe for public use. Also, because of the legacy factor, RTMP is supported by most streaming platforms and software. RTMP transfers stream data that is split into small packets between Flash Player and a server to ensure minimal interruptions and artifacts. It maintains a persistent, stable connection and allows for low-latency communication. RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol): TCPĭeveloped by Macromedia and acquired by Adobe in 2005, RTMP still remains the most-used protocol. However, we can certainly single out the few most popular ones. Most-used streaming protocolsĬlearly, there are dozens of live streaming protocols, each serving its purpose. This can sometimes result in minor issues with the quality. Moreover, the receiving side may not get some pieces at all. Due to the absence of multiple handshakes and confirmation steps between the devices, the data can’t be transmitted in a strict order. On a more practical level, UDP transmits small bits of information relatively faster than TCP. ![]() UDP, on the other hand, ignores this step. The main difference between these two is TCP forces the communicating devices to establish a connection to transfer data. There are two ways it can be transmitted - via the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). It is responsible for the transmission of your content to the end platform. One layer in particular deserving your attention is the transport layer. Okay, this doesn’t get any more difficult, so bear with us. In order to simplify things, streaming protocols operate within these layers to focus only on their functions. There are seven logical layers, each serving specific communication functions. For example, three of the most common package formats for streaming video files are FLV, MP4, and MPEG-TS.īefore we start describing the most popular streaming protocols, we need to mention one important aspect. Secondly, some people confuse a streaming protocol with a container format, which basically means how the data is stored. Simply put, a codec deletes unimportant information in the video to compress the file size. The latter is a specific technology to make your data (for instance, a video file) smaller. Firstly, a streaming protocol is not the same as a codec. In other words, it is a set of rules that regulates how data is transferred, as well as how to handle any errors that may occur during this process. ![]() This is exactly the point we are going to prove! Understanding streaming protocols and the way they workĪ streaming protocol is a specific method used to deliver multimedia across the web. Although it may seem a bit complicated, in reality, you don’t need to have some specific education to understand video streaming protocols. Basically, there’s no such thing as a “bad” streaming protocol. In this article, we will compare the most popular live streaming protocols and help you decide which one suits your needs the most.
